The files listed toward the top of the page are letters/forms/lists that contain information for everyone in every class – an explanation of each file is given next to the filename.
Class-specific information is contained in the table further down this post. Click on your child’s class to open a file containing information about their costume, make-up, shoes and tights needed, as well as information for that class’ in-studio dress rehearsal, pictures, UH Cullen Performance Hall rehearsal and recital show (and dressing room assignments).
2018 ABAD Recital Procedures – This document covers details about the on-site UH Cullen Performance Hall rehearsal and recital procedures that we will be following this year.
2018 CPH Dress Rehearsal Schedule – This gives the rehearsal order for each of the 3 shows, as well as dressing room, arrival time and on-stage rehearsal time for each class or company dance for our June 8 (Friday) dress rehearsal at the UH Cullen Performance Hall.
2018 CPH Recital Schedule – This gives the show order for each of the 3 shows (10am, 2pm, and 6pm), as well as dressing room, arrival time and on-stage rehearsal time for each class or company dance for our June 9 (Saturday) recital.
AdOrderForm2018 – This is the order form for purchasing an ad in our recital program. Past programs are available at the studio for you to see examples of ad sizes/layouts/etc. Please note, the due/past due date for submission of ad information designed by KrispGraphix is May 11, 2018.
2018 Parent Meeting and In Studio Dress Rehearsal – This is an explanation of what goes on during In-Studio Dress Rehearsal week (May 14-19) and lists when/if classes have a parent meeting and/or dress rehearsal. Please be aware that some classes will have their in-studio dress rehearsal on a different day/time/studio in order to accommodate the additional traffic in our parking lot as well as in our studio. It is very important for at least 1 parent to attend the Parent Meetings since many of our procedures are different this year due to the changed venue.
2018 In Studio Rehearsal Schedule – This is a calendar format for which classes are meeting in which studio and on which date/time for In-Studio Dress Rehearsal week (May 14-19). Classes listed in bold do NOT have a parent meeting and will meet as they do on any other week.
2018 Picture Week Schedule – Picture week is the week of May 21-25. This file, too, is in calendar format to show when each class will have their recital group and individual pictures taken. Classes in bold indicate that the day and/or time is different from their regularly scheduled day/time. If your class is not listed that means you will not be meeting during this week. Normal class schedules will resume the week of May 28th (exception: Monday, May 28th is the Memorial Day holiday and the studio is closed that Monday).
2018 Recital Video OrderForm – Once again, Gotham Arts HD will be recording our performances. If you would like to have a lasting memory of your child’s performance, you may purchase one of their DVDs or Blu-Rays using this order form. Bring the order form, along with your payment, to your child’s performance on June 9th and hand it to the Gotham Arts HD representative in the lobby. Or, if easier, hand it in to us at the studio and we will pass it on to the Gotham Arts representatives. Please note – payment must be made directly to Gotham Arts (i.e., we cannot run your payment to Gotham Arts to your card on file).
Flow 40 Is Coming to Amy Blake’s!
Amy Blake’s Academy of Dance is thrilled to once again host the Flow 40 4-day summer intensive workshop! Come have fun while you learn under the direction of Los Angeles-based, nationally acclaimed teachers who have worked with numerous celebrities and appeared in may popular television shows and movies! The workshop will be held at Amy Blake’s Academy of Dance (410 E Edgewood Dr, Friendswood) on June 11-14, 2018. Cost of the 4-day workshop is $285: a non-refundable deposit of $142.50 is due at registration to hold your spot in the workshop, and the balance of $142.50 is due on June 11. This workshop is designed for the beginner/intermediate (ages 7-11) to intermediate/advanced (12 and up) dancer, and you don’t need to be a current student of Amy Blake’s to register – all dancers are welcome! Registration is not available online – you must register in person at the studio. Please fill out the 2018 flow 40 summer intensive registration form and bring it with you when you register. Updated! Summer Dance Camp Information
Amy Blake’s Academy of Dance is pleased to announce the dates for their upcoming Summer 2018 Dance Camps!
Two (2) week-long dance camps for the 3-5 year old age group will be held: the first will be the week of June 18-22nd, the second will be the week of July 9-13th. The camps will be held Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 12:30pm each day. Snacks will be provided, and camp activities include creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, as well as arts and crafts. Camp participants will present a show on Friday for their family and friends. The cost of the week-long camp is $180 – a $25 non-refundable deposit is required at registration. Two (2) week-long dance camps are also available for the 6-and-up age group: the first will be held the week of June 25-29th, and the second will be held the week of July 16-20th. The camps will be held Monday through Friday, 10am to 2pm each day. Campers will need to bring their own lunch each day except Friday – bring $4 cash for a Pizza Party on Friday. Dance genres taught during camp include ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. Other activities include TV commercial improv and student choreography. Camp participants will present a show on Friday for their family and friends. The cost of the week-long camp is $200 – a $25 non-refundable deposit is required at registration.
