About Us

At Amy Blake’s Academy of Dance, we believe every student deserves a place to grow, both as a dancer and as a person. Since 1996, we’ve provided Friendswood and Clear Lake families with expert instruction, a welcoming community, and a path for dancers of every level, from first steps to competition company members to pre-professionals.

Our Dance Home

We got our start in 1996 in the Clear Lake area of Houston, and moved into our Friendswood home in 2010, where we’ve been ever since. Our space was built with dancers and families in mind, large dance rooms, quality sprung floors, private parking, and a parent waiting area with viewing windows, so you never have to miss a moment of your dancer’s progress.

What We Offer

We offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, theatre dance, acrobatics, drill teams prep and more!

Classes are built for every age and level, starting at 2.5 years old all the way through adult, whether your dancer is stepping into their first class ever, dancing recreationally for fun, or training competitively.

For dancers who want to go further, we offer a clear path forward, from our competition teams to our pre-professional program, Houston Repertory Dance Ensemble (HRDE), and drill team training for high schoolers with their sights set on that path.

Wherever your dancer wants to dance recreational or professional, we’ve built a program to get them there. View our schedule or call us at 281.482.0600 to set up a free trial class!

Community

We’re so proud to be part of the Friendswood community! Giving back is something we build into our year, not just something we do once in a while. From performing scenes of the Nutcracker at local senior homes, to marching in community parades, to showing up for local events throughout the year, our students learn early on that dance is about more than just technique, it’s about sharing what they love with the people around them.
